Hallside Primary has grown to be the largest Primary School in South Lanarkshire by school roll! This is largely due to the influx of children from Drumsagard Village. From one to two to three classes per year, the school has not only grown in size, but in stature and as a parent I would vouch for its excellence in administration, teaching, quality of education and activities for the kids - more than I would ever have expected a couple of years ago when I was at Primary school (maybe I'll get a rolleyes smiley here as the site develops!)

There are so many clubs for the kids that I had to buy 5 calendars for this year! The kids from p5 on also build their own websites and some of them are remarkable and with all the fancy features would definitely put this one to shame! Sports clubs, Music, Scripture Union, and Drama to name but a few. A special mention has to go to the Drama club, and the productions laid on for parents and friends. The recent productions of Annie and Joseph (both extremely ambitious) I have seen have been superb and the talent on display remarkable in song, dance and acting abaility among many so young. To the teachers who organise these, a special word of thanks!

Educationally, I was amazed by the level of attainment of the Primary 7 pupils which more than equips the kids for secondary education. I expect great things of Hallside former pupils in the not too distant future. I also note that my own daughter having gone through P1 to P7 has loved all her teachers, and clubs. Hallside Primary is very much part of what makes Drumsagard a nice place to live - and no, am not a part of the PTA or School Board, but I very much appreciate what they do!

Lots of times I have stood outside the school on pick-up duty, and the discipline, demeanour and order of the pupils of Hallside is excellent - even with their sense of fun! So from the Head, Ms Russell and her deputy Mrs Laing, through to all the teachers in the school - you have helped give my own daughter 7 of the best years of her life and we personally thank you!
